The GIAVI winery takes its name from Francesco Giavi, who at the beginning of the 20th century purchased from the Tezza family a valuable estate on the outskirts of Conegliano, located at the southwest end of Monticella hill overlooking town. The list of old place names carries with it allusions to this property which has been in possession since 1800s and is home to Blessed Luigi Tezza, born in his family house still standing on top of hill. The farm member of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene Prosecco consortium came down to Rossella Zuanetti who now manages it with her husband Alessandro.
