Our winery has been around for over 500 years. The first evidence of our business is found in the State Archives of Treviso, where we can find Zan Bortolin cultivating 17 plots and producing 20.5 "conzi" (a conzo being about 100 liters) back in 1542! Our family company was established by Valeriano Bortolin who started it off with his sons shortly after WWII when he purchased a vineyard from an American diplomat stationed at Trieste to make Prosecco wine using Italian methods like Champagne does.
